Are You Comeback Kidding Me?

As with "Clean Coal," the so-called "Nuclear Comeback" is clearly little but a flabbergasting fraud, a PR confection of extractive-industrial elitists hoping to cash in a second time on the environmental pushback and cleanup necessitated now by the climate catastrophes created by elite extractive-industrial practices in the first place.

Since the impact of solar, wind, geothermal, and simply raising energy efficiency standards are well documented by now, the burden of proof to justify any consideration at all of new centralized highly investment-intensive extractive-industrial proposals of dubious sustainability is clearly on the coal and nuclear partisans and nobody else, to demonstrate that they can exceed the performance of these renewable alternatives already on offer. That looks to me like a game-ender for the dinosaurs of the extractive-petrochemical epoch:
A new study puts the generation costs for power from new nuclear plants at 25 to 30 cents per kilowatt-hour—triple current U.S. electricity rates!

This staggering price is far higher than the cost of a variety of carbon-free renewable power sources available today….
