Not Bad

Transhumanist James Hughes has published another essay over at IEET in which he refers to writing of mine. My views on progress have changed around the edges since I wrote the piece to which he refers (for example, here -- especially "XIX" -- and here); nevertheless, on first read I think Hughes' essay isn't half bad, and his treatment of me seems absolutely fair. I daresay complimenting a transhumanist is the single thing I could do that would be most harmful to their reputation among their fellows, but credit where credit is due I always say.
