Former World Wrestling CEO Linda McMahon made her fortune selling the staged battles of Hulk Hogan and The Rock to millions of fans. Now she's selling herself as Connecticut's next senator [Republican, natch]… [A]sked… about the issue [of steroid use], however, she said she shared her husband's doubts. "There's some evidence sometimes of muscle disease, or cardiac disease, but it's really hard to know because you didn't know the condition of the performer's heart, or whatever, prior to," she told me. "So I still don't think we know the long-term effects of steroids. They are continuing to study it more and more, but I don't believe there are a lot of studies out there today that are conclusive."
A "self-made" woman who made a fortune from lives destroyed by steroid use and abuse and knows full well the truth of the matter, declares the jury is still out on their danger in a textbook re-packaging of the cynical "safe-cigarette" arguments made for decades by those who made their fortunes knowingly destroying lives with lethal cigarettes.
