Who Exactly Is Handing the Republicans Their Weapons?

Republicans obstruct Democratic efforts to solve problems and then pundits blame Democrats for "handing Republicans a weapon" if they fail to anticipate every dishonest, illogical, insane, heartless attack. Nothing is perfect, but somehow when the least thing goes wrong in Democratic efforts to solve problems and Republicans opportunistically attack to destroy it, pundits blame Democrats for "handing Republicans a weapon."
